The founder of Tanzania Outdoor Adventures, and the main Guide, was born in a Maasai village and spent his childhood as a Maasai cattle herder.  His early bush experience inspired him to pursue wildlife training courses in Tanzania.  Jombi has over 24 years of experience as a safari guide. He gained valuable insight on guiding safaris with big commercial safari companies, and decided to start his own small boutique safari company to provide a more personal experience.

Jombi has guided safaris for world renowned media venues. His knowledge and experience have attracted the likes of National Geographic, which continues to ask him to guide their expeditions in Tanzania. As a member of the Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania, Jombi always desires to enrich his knowledge of ecology. He looks forward to leading his guests in discovering the amazing ecology, wildlife and cultural heritage of Tanzania and Africa in general.

Jombi continues to improve his trade by attending a variety of training courses in Eastern Africa. As your guide, Jombi will personally ensure that your visit to Africa is an unforgettable experience!  Apart from guiding, he does presentations about wildlife conservation at schools and events in Germany and the USA.  Jombi speaks English, German, Kiswahili and Maa.

Gerald was born on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro where he spent his childhood. After graduating from his secondary school, he enrolled in training courses for safaris. He loves all wildlife but his special passion is birds.

Gerald is one of those safari guides with whom everyone connects. His easy going humour and hearty laugh wins you over every time. His sincere interest in wildlife and protected areas is evident during every safari. Gerald has the rare skill of balancing well-informed interpretive guiding with good natured sociability in all situations.

With over 24 years of safari experience, he can lead you to discover wonders that Tanzania has to offer.

Wilfred is a Tanzanian, of the Chagga tribe based in Moshi at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. He is married with two children. He began his guiding career in 1999 as a porter, and within a few months underwent the KINAPA guide-training course and became a certified mountain guide. He started as an assistant guide, and because of his language and natural leadership skills, he quickly became a head guide in 2001. He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro over 150 times.  Wilfred Moshi also became the first Tanzanian to climb and summit the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest in May 2012.

Wilfred subsequently established his own company Kili-Treks which guides on  all routes up Mt. Kilimanjaro, as well as Mt. Meru and other personalized treks.

Wilfred is a certified KINAPA (Kilimanjaro Tanzania National Park) guide and holds a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) certification as a “Wilderness First-Responder” (WFR) and “Heart Saver CPR”. 

Joshua is a native Tanzanian, born and raised at the Southern Maasai Steppe. He grew up in a Pastoral Society where livestock rearing is their pride and a sign of wealth. With good luck he was able to access a Secondary Education that was completed in 1993. Joshua has 15 years of experience as a guide and having good knowledge of the habits and behaviours of East African wildlife, he will make any safari more interesting and memorable! 

  As a guide for Tanzania Outdoor Adventures he feels Tanzania is a Blessed country and that all flora and fauna have an integral part in the country and the world’s ecosystem.

Goodluck Amani born and raised in Arusha, Tanzania from the Pare tribe from Kilimanjaro Region. After completing secondary education, he decided to follow his dream to become a safari guide. He Joined a training course for wildlife management at Key Field, attended short guiding training at The Collage of African Wildlife Management. Then started working as a guide in 2009 in various safari companies.

Goodluck is well known as eagle eyes and ability to spot animals at a great distance also has a special knack of getting keen photographer to the right place for the perfect shots. with his 12 years of guiding experience he is able to provide quality service to customers looking for memorable experience in Tanzania’s majestic natural wonders.
